The history of the argan tree dates back to the times of the indigenous Barber people of Hamito-Semitic origin associated with the northern part of Africa and the Sahara. The argan tree, referred to by the natives as the tree of life, played a great role in the existence of the population and animals living in the difficult desert climate. However, the most valuable resource of this tree was argan oil, obtained for centuries, which served primarily as food and a natural cosmetic for care purposes.
An interesting fact about the argan tree and the oil obtained from it is that argan trees live on average 150-200 years. The only region where we can find them is Morocco. The areas where crops grow have been included on the UNESCO list of reserves. You have to wait about half a century for the first harvest. According to tradition, Moroccan women press argan oil. Obtaining oil is very complicated and time-consuming. It takes about 30 kilograms of fruit to obtain 1 liter of oil.
